Powerhead for a 12G Nanocube

Hi Guys,

How big of a powerhead do I need for a 12G Nanocube? I was going to get a Maxi-Jet MP - 400 powerhead and the built in one is that enough flow in my tank?

I have a 400 in my tank and it wasnt enought so i cut the tubing and teed the stock pump and maxi together untill i get my maxi 600s (one for return in first chamber and one for the last chamber) I read that you want about 20x turn over rate

Maybe I will not use a powerhead. It will take up room in my tank.

Can I upgrade the pump in the Nanocube? Will a better one fit in it? what is the best one to get?

Yes you can upgrade... with a powerhead. I do not have pumps in the show part of my tank .. their in the chambers. Maxi jet powerheads will replace your stock pump. Look for a maxi 600 or 900. Should drop right in with the stock pump tubing ;-)

get a hydor water deflector as well .. creates a wave effect .. really cool

Where do you get that from? I have never heard of a water deflector sounds cool :mrgreen:
