I have a rock with 4 ricordea shrooms on it, and three teeny feather dusters. There is also a mystery creature inside this rock. Whatever it is, it extends numerous 2" long pink translucent arms/tentacles/snakes... something like that... out of the rock through a small hole. The tentacles are about the diameter of a toothpick, clear pink, and smooth. The tentacles search around, feeling the rock, etc... constantly moving. If anything comes near, the tentacles/arms retract back into the hole.
Edit: I just took another look at these pink things, and one of them was stretched out about 3 inches and was wrapped around the stalk of one of my pulsing Xenias. Now, that can't be good. When I see long tentacles like this, I think "stinging" -- I think anenome. ?? So I moved the rock away from any other corals. I don't know what to do with it, if these turn out to be bad (which I am suspecting they are going to turn out to be bad). It's a gorgeous rock with gorgeous ricordea on it and great little feather dusters, but whatever this mystery thing is, it's deep inside the rock. I don't want to get rid of the rock, but I may have to. ??
Here's a pic (but it's very hard to see them). In the picture below, you can see two of the pink arms inside the red circle. The arms are rooting around in the sand bed. The arms originate from a small hole at the very top center of the rock.
