There are a couple of options other than building a custom canopy and then installing lighting in to it. You can use a 20" fixture and have an inch hanging over each end, here is one example of a good fixture for this: http://www.hellolights.com/201xcoaqpcho.html . You could also use a slightly shorter fixture if the legs will extend beyond the fixture. Here is an 18" fixture but it doesn't put out enough light IMO to be able to keep much under it: http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant ... e=Finnexpc . Depending on what you want to keep you could also use a hanging pendant or one of these: http://www.hellolights.com/aqadhatamo.html . If you can tell us a little more about the tank and what you plan on keeping then we can give you some more specific ideas. HTH, Skip

BTW I almost forgot, :welcome to Nanotank!

welcome...and i would recommend the same thing skip did...a 20" fixture. the bulbs are only just under 18" in length so it would work great. also, if you wanted more flexibilty in what you could keep...ie light-demanding corals...you could use a metal halide pendant or easily create a custom MH canopy with a 70 watt double-ended metal halide fixture.

let use know which direction you are leaning towards with your coral selection and we can help you out a little more.
