Glad you found a light fixture for the tank. I'm more interested in that rock you discribed

lets see some pictures!

refuigm

Just a little FYI as far as a refuigm goes you dont nessicarly need one to keep your tank stable I have had a 20h going for about 5 months now and dont have one and I only had one little spike in my levels since I set this one up and that was in the first month but for the last four all my levels have been in acceptable range and I only do a 10% water changes about once a month so it can be done with out one and JD was right about the coralife fixtures with just the pcs they do brown your corals out I am having that trouble right now so I am in the market for a new light myself and your right everything in this hobby can be overwhelming but you just have to take it in stride is all because as we all know it pays off in the end hope this little bit of info helps you some. and good luck

Ask and ye shall receive...

I just kind of "threw" the power heads in because I have no clue where I should have put them. The 2 in the upper corners are on opposing timers at 20-second intervals and the 3rd one is on a 3-minute timer. The wavemaker package from F&S didn't come with any kind of diagram or useful suggestions for placement. So.....your advice is needed!

Thank you,
Karen

looks good so far....... do you plan on going bare bottom or are you going to get some live sand?
I have some live sand on the way. I will probably go with a deepish sand bed because I plan on moving my jawfish into the 29 where he will make less mess than in the 12.

cool - thats not a bad light set karen, just kinda pricey and i'm not sure how good that bulb is - but it should do very well for you
everything looks nice, that rock has some nice shapes - due to the height of the tank aquascaping will be a challenge but thats half the fun
that is exactly how i would put those pumps, 2 opposing up high and one down low
i am playing with bare bottom right now 15 years ago bare bottom was the "big thing" and everyone (my first few tanks were) did it - then sand came into fassion and now bare bottom is making a comeback. before you add sand i would decide on a theme - if SPS is in the mix you may want to stay BB in the tank and just have sand in your fuge
as to SPS just let me know i do have a couple nice ones to get you started

I prefer a tank with a substrate, and since I'm putting the jawfish in the new tank it's a necessity. I love that fish to death, but he's getting more and more destructive in my 12. I expected the burrowing and put in a deep sand bed for that purpose, but he keeps stealing my zoa frags to line the entry way to his hole! Bratty fish!

My plan for the new tank is to have a pair of clowns and an anemone. (Besides, my honey has financed the bulk of this project and that's what he wants and I'm more than happy to oblige.) I probably won't do much with corals until the anemone is established, but I did put my capnella in there already because it was getting kind of big for the 12. It opened within 5 minutes!!!

I will keep you all informed on my progress.

Make sure to find a piece of LR with a nice, deep hole or crevice for the anemone to bury his foot... this is your best shot at keeping it from wandering. I had a RBTA for 2 years without it EVER moving because it had it's foot in a big crevice and it felt comfortable that way.

That big 15 pounder in the center has a real nice big hole/cave right in front. Hope that will work for an anemone.

Update.....Got my sand! Got my sand! Got my sand sand sand!! JOY!!!!
