Wow... ... Now you have to wonder if someone with a tank like that has a wife or kids or any friends. That thing looks like a full time job. thanks for sharing Jesse.

I'm not a big fan of the powerheads on display with the corals; it pulls your attention away....
Generally I'm not either. But to obtain a true wave motion, you have to use something like the waveboxes. Frankly, the only ones that even catch my eye in that tank are the streams.

BTW, He has FOUR Tunze 6200s (5,300gph each), a 2,000gph Iwaki, AND four Tunze Waveboxes. That means you are looking at 23,000gph PLUS the waveboxes. Having pumps in your display is about the only way to get that kind of random flow.

But I know what you mean Mike.

Reefman,

Even though he has all those wavemakers and powerheads, if you block them out, that is one incredible tank; corals and all....

If ya gonna set it up right...ya gotta have the flow for the sps. No way can you criticize the powerheads...skimp there and ya don't have those corals that big..

yea i agree PH are a distraction - but a neccessary one, unfortunitly i have to have 6 MJ's in my tank because at the present time i can't afford streams or vortecs. sieos are nice but the big ones are bulky and really stand out. closed lopes are a good alternative but then you need to have multiple return lines or spraybars and you will see those also. bottom line is critter first then asthetics and trying to find a way to make them a "stealth" as possible, half mine are covered with coraline all ready :)
