Turn off your pumps. Get out your stepladder. Move the lights over. Try taking some shots from the top of your aquarium. It's a very different perspective than you normally see, and can yield some very nice shots. I've got a few, but I'm going to try to get some wider angle versions this weekend. As usual try to keep the images under 600x450 so people don't have to scroll back and forth and up and down to see the images.

Okay....but I'll need a reeeaaaallly tall ladder. ;) My cube, including canopy is taller than me. hehe

Think I'll start with the 2.5.

My 25g I managed to get a few shots without the step ladder, but just barely. for all the others I definitely need the ladder. Not that it takes much for me to need a ladder. :D

Damn, those are good pics! I just ordered a Nikon CoolPix 4200 and all the extra junk today. After that, I need to set up the tank!

Nice shots. I like the last one with the ricordia the best. It really gives a different perspective.

I love your shots, especially the first batch. I'm sure you have a better camera than I do, mine is a Nikon 4300 Coolpix. When I bought it, I had no idea how much I'd love taking photos, so I didn't go with the higher up model when I should have. Also, I lost the users manual so I'm not sure how to adjust everything. I have a hard time getting good focus.
Also, what program do you use to view and alter your pics on your computer?
I try not to use my flash much, do you ever use it?

You should be able to get very good pics with that camera.
You can get your manual in pdf format here.

If you want to pay for shipping you can get a hardcopy here.http://www.nikonmall.com/searchresults. ... rchcatid=8

I almost never use a flash. If I had a slave flash, I might try it a bit more often, but with just the standard one it generally causes reflection problems...Not always, and I use it from time to time when I'm trying to get pics of fish or other moving critters that I'm having issues with....I had to use my flash quite a bit when I was taking pics of the sea dragons at the New Orleans aquarium. Those were posted in the lounge area.

Try here for tips on getting better shots.

Incysor-
Thank you for the Nikon info. I was able to download the manual easily and have browsed it. Now I just have to finish writing all my papers for school so that I have time to play!
