Pet Store Receives a Shipment of Tattooed Fish

Check out CNN.com. There's a video (sorry I can't link it due to it being Javascripted) about a fish store that, hopefully it was a mistake, received a shipment of fish that were tattooed in Singapore. Can you imagine the stress that will cause?

Someone told me of one of our lfs getting in some fw fish, I think parrotfish, w/smile tats on them. There were a few other tats mentioned but I cannot remember what they were.

My LFS has gotten a couple of shipments of tattooed freshwater fish. It is becoming pretty popular.

My LFS refuses to carry dyed, injected or genetically modified fish. They tend to have shortened life spans and generally are significantly less healthy. Also, if they bought these tortured fish, they would be contributing to the cruelty. I have spoken at length with the employees and they all agree that it is sooooo wrong and really stupid.

I agree, don't support this by purchasing them.
