Opinions Needed on Fish Recommendations...

Starting a 10gal nano and need some opinions on stocking. I am using an AC300 with surface skimmer, so i need a fairly decent cleaning crew...

I know for sure i will do at least one clown fish and a peppermint shrimp.. But i need recommendations for crabs, snails, 1 or 2 other small fish and any other diversity (ie: a small starfish, possible an anenome for the clown).

Does 15lbs of LR sound reasonable in a standard 10g? (I need a good amt for maintaining water params since i will have no protein skimmer). Or should i hold back on the LR to allow room for coral to grow?

Most likely i will have to mostly rely on what the LFS has, but i would like to start forming some ideas...

You need to visit a LFS and see what they have.

Your cleanup crew is basic, variety of snails, variety of small crabs, I'd say 5 to 6 of each.

15lbs of LR is fine.

Your fish selection will depend on tank size, get a book and read up and cross reference against what is available locally. Get a goby.

Best thing to do is read read read.

Astrea snails do a fairly decent job keeping the sand bed mixed up. they spend a lot of the time half buried, and feeding on detritus in the bed. Nassarius snails also do a pretty good job, they're smaller but move a little faster and are more active........

for the fish, either a goby or a six-line wrasse would do great in a 10-gallon.......

would a clown, goby and a wrasse be too much or would there be compatibility issues etc? most likely ill keep 2 fish since i have no protein skimmer... so its between the wrasse and the goby

I think you may have your snails mixed up a bit firefish. Astreas are rarely seen on the sand bed, instead, they prefer to clean the rock and glass surfaces. In fact, the only time I've seen my astreas on the sand bed is when they've toppled off a rock and can't right themselves. :) You're thinking of cerith snails. They bury themsleves in the sand bed to sleep and will graze along the glass to feed. Nassarius snails are the detritus eaters and sand bed stirrers. Margarita snails are a great choice for rocks and glass. Checkered nerites are also a good choice, but since they are a tidal snail, they tend to climb out of the tank from time to time. Strombus and trochus snails are also great cleaners.

Either the clown goby or the wrasse would be a good choice. It's really a matter of which of the two you like better. Both are great fish for a nano. 2 fish will be fine,, but keep up with weekly water changes to keep your water in check.
