I would have to say no .....they need lots of water volume and pristine perameters the smallest I would think would be a 40 gallon tank . Incysor here use to keep them . I know this is not what you wanted to hear sorry :sad:

They are also reputed to be escape artists and I think one would just push the feeding door open. If you really want to keep one I would go with a larger tank and cover it with a glass top, it is my understanding that any small opening in the tank an octopus can squeeze through it and escape.

Sorry, but I think the tank you are refering to would be too small. Sadie is right, they need prestine water conditions and an escape proof tank.

I've kept them for awhile now. A 12g tank isn't large enough.

If you're serious about keeping one, you'll need a 40g tank with an oversized filtration system, and I'd suggest a lot of reading here:

They're by far the most interactive animal I've kept.
