Newb with Aquapod 24 fan question

Hey all. I just bought a used aquapod 24 with everything but fish. Water is clear, pump was upgraded, liverock and small corals doing well. However, I noticed the fan never comes on. Is it supposed to run when the lights are switched on or does it have some sort of thermal sensor? Thanks!

If it is like most other all-in-one tanks it should come on when the light is on. There may be a loose wire or something. Have you taken the lid apart?

BTW, :welcome to nanotank.com!

Thanks guys. I took the light cover off and the fan's connection wasn't loose. Gotta check the fan and if she's okay then it's the transformer. :anxious

Sounds like you don't mind checking out some things. So if it is the transformer, most electronic stores sell ac - dc converters "wallwarts" (I think that is how some people refer to them) and you can at least power the fan from it's own connection. Just check all electrical information first. :danger:
