Hello everyone. I'm new to the page and thought I'd share my nano with ya.

It's a 4 gallon Finnex frameless rolled corner glass tank. Sportin some black sand and probably 7-8 pounds of assorted live rock. The light is a 70 watt metal halide.

It's been a pretty cool little tank. Probably my favorite. My plans include modding out an AC300 into a fuge and possibly building a canopy and adding two 18 watt actinic powercompacts. Other than that I have a handful of ricordia and zoos sitting in my moms tank waiting for their new home. I just added my first frags just to see how they'd do and since they're doing well I'll add the rest this weekend.

I hope you'll share your thoughts, advice, or criticisms with me.

Here is day 1:

week 2. added some rock.

week 4 I retroed a 70 watt halide in place of the 13 watt PC.

This week I added some corals.
Blues.

Fire & Ice.

Lastly some eagle eye wannabes.

everything together.

current FTS.

Hope you all enjoy. Thanks.

Your off to a very nice start. What kind of light is that, I thought it was a DIY at first until I saw the fixture. I also noticed the Nimble cleaning magnet in the last pic, they work great don't they. Skip

hey thanks everyone for the kind words! after doing some browsing this seems to be a cool group of reefers so your "welcomes" are appreciated!

The light fixture actually came with the tank. I just gutted all the power compact componants and then mounted in the halide. Only problem is that the fixture is so small it doesnt allow for any fans. So I'm sitting here in colorado, in winter with a room fan on... I need to figure something out before I get frostbite. lol. The water is still 80 though.

The nimble is a great little product. I just wish the magnets were a bit stronger. It seems I have to spend just a bit more time with it then what I remember spending with a magfloat. I guess I cant complain though... there's pros and cons to everything.

Thanks again. I'll post some more pics over the weekend when I add the rest of my corals.

Take care.

I appreciate the positive comments. Thanx.

THis retro kit actual came from AquaBuys. I got it in a trade for a PH monitor but that is where it was originally purchased.

Here's a link to the exact kit.

http://www.aquabuys.com/miva/merchant.m ... ct_Count=3

I've had a handful of 70watt halide retro's and this is by far the best quality. I highly recommend it.

Take care everyone.

sadielynn, One time a frag of xenia sat in our car for like 9 hours cooking in the sun at a car dealership. Thought for sure it was a goner... nope.. still alive today. I cant seem to kill the stuff... well.. not like.. I tried or anything :floating

If you pay for shipping I'll send you some for free if you'd like. I have red sea and pom pom.

Is that stuff stinky or what though? ga ross!

drty811, my bulb is a ReefGrow 10k. I wouldnt recommend it. I think it is the cheapest bulb made but I got it for like $20 and needed a bulb so... here I am.

I ran the 14k australux on my nanocube and loved it. As soon as my funds are replenished or I have $50 :banadance: I'm gonna pick up another. They are awesome.

I guess between the weather here and the weather there... xenia sicles are inevitible  .

Well I got my hands on an AC300 today and made a fuge out of it.

I shortened the downpipe so it fits correctly inside of the display.

Better shot of the screen that I pirated from the stock basket.

I wanted to do something for mechanical filtration so I made a couple holy baffles for water to pass through.

Here they are before I glued em into place. I'll just slide some filter floss between them and be good to go.

Just waiting on the glue to dry. Hopefully I'll have it up and running tomorrow.
EDIT: Wont be running untill the smaller impeller arrives.

Good looking DIY. I was also interested in the MH link that you gave, I will have to bookmark it for future use. Don't worry too much about the excess epoxy, coralline will have in covered before too long. Keep the pics and progress reports coming. Skip
