new to salt water!

Hi im looking to invest in a 29 gallon bio cube. I am a complete beginner with no info. Can someone tell me how to care for slatwater. i have freshwater tanks but not SW. maintenance? stocking?

also does anyone know of a fish that eats sand but it comes out of its gills. my dentist has it in his nano cube thnx

There are many people on this forum that keep nano tanks hence the name of the forum. There is alot of differences between FW and SW. The biggest difference is cost. Also you must do a lot of research before you start and plan out your modifications for your tank before you start so you won't have to do things after you set-up. The type of fish that you describe is some kind of a sand sifting goby most likely. :lol:

I've spent more than six months researching and planning; working out lists and costs of everything I would need to get started with various tank sizes/configurations. I finally made my decision this past weekend, but my point is that wvfisher is correct. Research, research, research before moving forward. I have over 30 years of VERY successful freshwater experience with difficult species, but I still have trepidation about entering the salt world by way of a nano tank. If you have no freswater experience, I would highly suggest starting with a tank of at least 50 gallons - jmo.
