It's probably not a good idea to hook up a 70w bulb to a 175w ballast.lgage3 said:Have been researching for a little while today what is possability of hooking a 70W MH to my ballest or where could I get a ballest for one

The sump should work just fine for you. The general idea is to get the entire tanks water to turn over 10-12 times per hour. Since you are using a 10g tank, that would mean a pump that can put out 120gph with whatever head pressure you'll have. I'd go with a mag 3 or mag 5 in your sump with a ball valve between it an the tank so you can adjust the pressure a bit. If you go with the mag 5 you'd probably even be able to split the return so you've got two return lines and still have enough pressure to do what you need. Remember to drill siphon-break holes on your return lines. You want to make sure that if the tank does back siphon a bit there's enough space in your sump to accomodate the extra water....This shouldn't be a problem since your sump is the same size as your display tank. It's generally more of a problem when you're running a much larger system than your sump.lgage3 said:Thank you for the welcome
