new tank...

I should turn this thread into a journal eh? Thanks for the advice etc.

One other thing, I want to make the tank into a mushroom/zoo/soft. Would the stock lighting/pump be enough to house such types of corals?

you may see a benefit for upgrading the pump slightly or just add another power head. After upgrading to my maxijet 1200 I went back to a 900 equivalent and added a koralia nano. I just like having two sources of flow instead of one.

Yeah, you just gotta love having the vets throw in their advice or comments etc.

I've come to realise over the past few months about what I'm going to do when I leave for basic training... I'm going to be really worried about leaving my things in the care of my mom... I guess I'll just have to show my mom this forum and hope for the best eh? Growing up sucks, but I'm sure everything will work, patience is key!

:anxious :cryinga:

Thanks, I just don't want her to ruin my 230 dollars... :pills

On another note, at least I'll have the money to start something bigger when I get situated. :wlift

:anxious the leather isn't very happy... anyone have some nice information I could use? lighting wise... should I place it someone else? It's all closed up and it seems like it shrunk :cryinga:

leathers have been know to shrink up, shed, then come back bigger and better than before. I would run some tests to see if anything is out of whack other than that if you have other soft corals they could be having a chemical war. If that is the case fresh carbon can help clean them out.

Thanks mate, the little mouth things are still coming out every couple of hours so its still alive. At the moment, the finger is the only coral in the tank. But maybe positioning of the coral might help? Its in the middle with some flow on it.

From my buddies tank his leather likes lower flow. Try to move a bit and give over night to see if it reacts more positively.

? If you mean nassarius snail, do a search on whelks. Sometimes whelks get solds as nassarius snails. Normally whelks are only an issue with clams as far as I know, but maybe...

Nice but keep in mind that the lawnmower blenny is a big time grazer. You are probably going to want to figure out a way to supplement his diet somehow maybe with veggies or something... they are almost completely herbivores.
