I just purchased the Oceanic 29 gal. Bio Cube. Can anyone share any of their experiences with this product that may be useful in setting up a successful nano cube.

All good so far.. 1 1/2 month in.

I really like it. It's a lot more work than my 110gal but it looks great!!

Add another MJ 1200 for extra flow for sure. :D

No problem,

It depends how far you want to take the tank I guess. I have a MaxiJet 1200 in the first chamber where the intake is and it adds a lot more flow to the take which is awesome for the corals. I would also replace the stock pumo with a MJ 1200 too if you're not planning on adding any Tunze Nano streams or anything. This is a cheaper alturnative.

Sky's the limit my friend. Other than than I guess I am really liking mine. Definetly can sink a lot of cash in to a little tank quickly

Hope this helps you out some what...not too sure you really all want to know

Most likely you will be looking to upgrade the lighting sooner or later. It is relatively easy to add another lamp or two... just depends on what corals you want to keep.

Thanks for the info, I am taking this project slowly until I feel comfortable with the tank as it is and until I find out what is available for improvement. Your comments will be kept and will be looked into as I go along. Getting the water and lr today. If you think of anything else, I would appreciate it.

So far so good in my 29g BC...Ive kept the stock pump with it and just added a Hydor rotating water deflector and it works good and I also changed the 10k bulbs with a 50/50 a lot more blue...Oh and I also trashed that carbon pad they have. Good luck with it!

KChan, Thanks for the info. By the way, what is a Hydor rotating water deflector and how and where does it connect? Also, what did you replace the carbon pad with if anything. Did your replacement light bulbs fit directly into the original sockets of the bulbs you replaced?

The pictures look fantastic, I only hope mind will look half as good in that period of time.

JD the Hydor rotating water deflector goes where the stock nozzle goes for the water return and what it does is rotates 360 degrees so that it mimics somewhat of a wave action in the tank. It is all powered by the water flow that flows through it so no need for electrical. I havent replaced the carbon pad as of yet but Im thinking about just throwing in a carbon bag into the first chamber. The lights fit perfectly because originally the tank comes with Coralife bulbs and I just replaced then with the 36w bulbs. In the pictures I have on the first post on my thread is with the stock lighting. The updated pics are with the new bulbs.
