I'm new to the hobby and the forum and am trying to select a nano tank. Does anyone have an opinion on the new JBJ 28 gallon HQI that's coming out soon? Any other favorites in that size range?
well ED, i dont own a nanocube but from what i have read and know, that specific set-up is more of an moderate to advanced system. for a beginner i would really start off with a basic NC, PC lighting will suite your needs fine at first. HTH
:welcome to the board Ed!
What kind of corals are you planning on keeping? That is one of the first considerations you need to address before looking for a tank since some of the equipment and especially your lighting needs will depend on the animals you are trying to keep.
Thank you for your input. I'm still reading/studying about this hobby, so I don't want to limit my future options by having to decide the type of corals or other animals I may learn about and want to keep. I'd rather spend the extra money know and buy a system that would provide for the most options. Does that make any sense?
How do you feel the JBJ 28 gallon HQI would compare to other nano tanks?
I haven't seen the 28 gallon in my area yet. I have seen the Aquapods (24 gallon) that are available in either a 70 watt or 150 watt MH and I do like them alot. The light they use is available seperately as a Current SunPod.
I have a JBJ 6 and a 12 gallon tank but both of them are lit by PC lighting so there really is no way to adequately compare them.
