well here are thi pics as promised. I just picked all these up today, turned out I got more than I payed for... I got a frag of blue candies w/ 2 heads, 2 stalks of pink pulsing xenias, and a large stalk of red sea pulsing xenias. All for $11...not bad, huh? Its the first time i've done business with a private person...man is it the way to go.

Thanks...everything is off to a great start...i'm having a rather difficult time attaching the xenias to a base rock, but ive researched different methods and will attempt it again today. as for the candy canes, i love them. as always, the color is better than the photos can show and each head ate a little piece of siversides (which are my open brains favorite).

I plan on keeping the xenias really trimmed back as to keep them from taking over the universe...okay maybe just my tank... so there may be frags coming in the near future depending on how fast they grow.

Nice frags,

I'm always on the hunt for frags; the xenias can take off in a nano but they don't seem to spread in my large tank.

I love the candy canes and can only say they are super hardy guys.

I've never purchased anything from a fellow reefer but it would be fun to pick up a couple cool frags, the prices are always way better than a LFS.

Hey Jesse, how often do you feed your open brains?

Steven,

I feed my open brain every other night or so. I feed meaty foods like uncooked tiger shrimp and silversides. The same goes for the candy canes.

Is this okay, or is there a better way to do it?

lazy me drops in shrimp pellets, they'll eat that. Once every two weeks or so I'll give him something meaty like silversides. once a week I'll give them and everybody else some cyclopeeze. They are very hardy and don't seem to want to be fed as much, but I could be wrong.......lets see if any others chime in and or recommend off their experience.

The candy's and the brain fully extend every night. It's like a puppy that is begging for a treat...i cant resist so I give them just a little bit every other night or so...just a little bit.

Ive yet to get/try the cyclopeeze, but the way everyone talks about it, I gotta get me some.

I take a cube of mysis shrimp, sprinkle some cyclops on top, rehydrate with some sea chem vitamins and then target feed all my LPS's with an eyedropper once every week or so.........when i think about it :) right when the actinics come on and the feeder tentacles are out. I think the jury is still out on how often one should feed so I error on the side of caution and would rather underfeed then overfeed - just me. Also realize other then candies - I only keep LPS's in my big tank and I have a very light fish load (the fish only get feed 5 times a week also) in there so over-feeding generally isn't an issue.
