New 2.5G my first Nano

Hi guys,

Here is a picture of my first Nano tank it is a Redsea Wave 2.5G. I just have some LR from my biger tank in it right now.

Hi Jennie,

I think you are looking at the heater, Marineland 25W. It is a little big but it seems to work. It is real hard to find smaller heaters.

I have the same heater and I conceal it pretty good behind my rocks on it's side... Give it a try...

you may want to try this mini heater. It doesnt have a thermostat, though, but it is fully submersible and the directions state that you can even put it under gravel it would probably be much easier to conceal that what you have. Just an idea.

I have been using the 25 watt Askoll compact heater, from Italy. It is only 6" long and very narrow, it almost hides itself. :razz:

it is about the size of a fat sharpie no more than 6 inches long for refrence I have the penguin 150 filter (I think )
we love our heater just dont run it dry hope this helps :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

My tank is ready to go and I just added my cleaning crew, two snails and 2 blue leg crabs. I think I might start adding stuff this weekend.

I want to add some LS but I am waiting for my LFS to get some in. It is hard to get in Calgary. Do you need LS; can you get by with out it?

Nice heater is it glass? I want to remove the media from my filter and add LR instead. Maybe put a heater in the filter to give the tank more room.

You can get by without LS since any sand you place in the tank will eventually become live, it can be seeded from a tiny bit of LS from a trusted tank to help get it kickstarted.
The heater is glass, I also have one of them in one of my nanocubes and they work well. Skip

I was thinking of just adding aragonite would that be ok or should I just stick with BB on this tank? Will that cause a mini cycle?
