but correct me if im wrong they say that the yasha goby is really hard to keep and is really a picky eater and doesnt like to leave its cave that much and sometimes eventually it dies of starvation..??? cause if not ill ger rid of one of my fish and get that pair but i have to look for it cause i dont want to get it from tong's......

This is a very unique little goby that is not often available, but very nice addition if you can get your hands on one. I've been looking for one for a long time, but they are just not that easy to find around here.
They really like a bed of fine sand and loose coral rubble to sift through, and dig its burrow. Providing adequate hiding places, they are usually very hardy and adapt well to reef tanks as long as they are kept with passive tankmates. It's also a good idea to have a lid to prevent this goby from jumping out.
I had one for over a year, but one day he finally decided to jump out of the tank. You have a nanocube and most likely he'll never jump out of the tank, even though you might find him in your sump every once in a while.

I live in Boca Raton, Florida and I have thought of ordering one from LiveAquaria before, but I will wait a bit until my tank matures a bit more and things start to settle.
Anyway, I think it's a great fish and if it's health and adapts well in your tank, they are usually very hardy.

Hey, I have a question that you guys will prolly have an opinion about. I have the 12g nano cube dx and I ordered the maxijet 900 to replace the factory pump. My model nano cube has the 106 gph pump (I think) and the maxi jet has 230...thats quite a difference. If I remember correctly the new nano's have 160..ish gph so my thinking was a slight upgrade from the new model units. Is it gonna be too much flow??

I had a NC12 original setup as a hospital tank with a maxijet 900, which gives you a max. flow rate 230 GPH. Considering the headloss, the 900 can pump approx. about 110 GPH of water in a 12 inch vertical climb.
I had good results with this pump, and it worked out really well IMO. Also the Maxijet 900 is definitely more energy efficient and puts out less heat than the 1200.

Max Flow: 230gph
Dimensions: 3.5" L x 2" W x 3.25" H
Considering the headloss of one feet vertically, the maxijet 900 will give you a flow rate of approx. 110 GPH

Dimensions: 3.5" L x 2" W x 3.25" H
Considering the headloss of one feet vertically, the maxijet 1200 will give you a flow rate of approx. 190 GPH

"Head" is a term commonly used with pumps. Head refers to the height of a vertical column of water.Semo said:
Usually it's a good idea to buy a pump with at least 25-30 percent more rated output than what you feel you will need to run your tank. This will help offset the pressure head loss in output, and give a better flow.

with all this pump info ... pump this pump that im thinking on upgrading mines for more flow in the back of my rock just in case the back is not getting to much circulation (an observation of jesse)....so thx for the info... and giving me ideas of pumps thx semo for openig this tread..
