Do you guys think the $509 [plus more if you get actinic or a 20k bulb] is worth it? Also, their chiller built into the hood looks cool and I wonder if it works well.

Not in my opinion.

But that's all it is an opinion.

Nanocustoms seems to do good work, and most people seem to have been happy with their products. I just can't see spending that much money to cram stuff into the NC, when I could spend quite a bit less, and have a better filtration system, and larger tank, with just as much light.

True.. I guess it would make more sense to setup my 30gal again since I have a refugium for it, 2x96w CF lights with moonlights. I'd just get a 20k MH [i like blue :p ] fixture for it also. Plus i miss the lengthier tanks [makes for good canyon-esque LR formations]

If you are into sleek-looking aquariums, then I would just go with the modded cube. I finally got one last week and I love it. Will post some pics later...

There are way more options with a standard AGA though.

Yea, several hundred dollars less haha. I am into the sleekness of the cubes, but im sure I could get help from my dad or uncle help me fashion a hood and something to cover up the siliconed corners. Does anyone know if Oceanic/AGA makes those sweet black-and-steel artsy looking stands for 30gals?

Ugh that sucks. I'd have to buy a stand and stuff still for it. The modded 12 and the 30 are almost becoming equal in price haha[Need to buy MH stuff, stand, circulation pumps etc]. I need my stuff to look nice [it's going in my bedroom]

I could always sell my 36" Orbit 2x96w PCw/ moonlight for extra cash. It wasnt used more than a month hahaah.

i agree with you B. I have had my lights modded on my 6 gallon, but I wouldn't do it again. The fans used in the new hood, suck @$$! I have replaced a fan, and already a fan is going out again.

As for the chiller assist, my brother onced owned it on his 12 gallon, but it broke a few times and my brother had to fix it himself!! Save your money go with something else...
