You are right. Anenome died last night. Why did pet store tell me it would do fine? They said they set up a fully stocked NanoCube after 3 days and it did great. When I went in yesterday they said ammonia was just a tiny bit high. Told me to charcoal filter back in for 2 days. I did. anenome looked great after 2 hours. this a.m. dead as a Mackeral. Everything else is looking fine.
What about my clown fish. What will they do without their anenome?
Here's a solid rule about the LFSs. Their job is to sell you stuff, not give you advice. Get that through your head now. You have to go into every LFS thinking that they're all a bunch of drooling idiots that are gonna try to rip you off. Really. It's YOUR responsibility to do the research that will enable you to maintain a tank. Once you've been in the hobby for awhile and you begin to have a good grasp of all the different facets of it, you'll be able to figure out that there are some really responsible LFS owners/employees, but you'll find the majority couldn't find their own rear, and are perfectly ok with selling you anything you point out. They often don't know the names of the stuff they're pulling out of the tanks, much less the requirements to keep it alive.

I am sorry you're losing livestock. Everyone loses stuff at times. However your chances for keeping stuff healthy goes up exponentially with a bit of patience and some reading.

Good luck,

A yellow tang requires at least a 75g tank. There are no tangs or angels that will do well in a 24g tank. Period. You should be very careful about adding crabs to your tank. Most crabs aren't reef-safe, and most will kill snails, and many will kill fish. Reddish-pink isn't an id. If you don't know the name of a specific animal, how do you know what it needs to be healthy? Would you buy a kitten and keep it in a hamster cage? Why not? It fits in there just fine right now.

Seriously. Your tank is likely still cycling, and you shouldn't have ANYTHING other than the rock in it until it's done. So far you seem to be making every beginner mistake in the book, and they're all very easily avoided by being patient and researching stuff ahead of time. Oh...and whoever is selling you all this stuff is not to be trusted. They either don't know what they're doing, or they're simply out to make a quick buck off of you, and don't care about return business. There are tons of newbies in this hobby that have this type of experience, and six months later they quit and sell all their gear at a quarter to half the price they paid for it because they can't keep anything alive, costs are mounting, and they're frustrated with it.
