what is the best way to lower the salinity value if it is too high
should reg ro/ water or distilled water be used all the water I bought for my qt tank is at 1.027 & I would like it to match our other tank as close as possible ran out of salt mix so opted for pre mix catalina water for new qt tank but values are to high :maitre

RO or RO/DI is the best choice, although it is my understanding that distilled will work too. I would lower it slowly over a few days. I forget what size tank you have, but if you remove about a liter of water about a time and replace it with the RO water a couple times a day, it should slowly lower the SG.

thank jesse just wanted to make sure qt tank is 20 gallon for setting up live rock & have for qt of new animals
