My new 2 gallon pico

Hi all,

Thought I would share some pics of my new pico I have had running for about 3 months now. I am slowly adding frags and filling in the gaps. The tank is a 2 gallon Eclipse Explorer, sans hood. Lighting is provided by a Coralife Mini Aqualight on a digital timer for 8 hours a day. Night lighting is provided by a moonlight led, Ill post pics of that on soon. 25 watt heater, with digital thermometer. Filtration and water movement is provided by an Aqua Clear mini 20, with matrix carbon and biological filtration. There is about 2 pounds of live rock, and a couple of cups of live substrate. I do half-gallon water changes once a week. It is kept at work on my desk, where the air conditioning helps keep the tank at 77-80 degrees depending on if the light is on. SG is 1.025. Let me know what you think or if you have any spec questions that I didn’t answer. Thanks to all on this forum as this is where I gathered all my info, tips, advice, and equipment to put the tank together.

All of the old hood/filtration/lighting that comes with the explorer 2 was removed. Lighting is supplied by a Coralife Mini Aqualight, which has two 9 watt power compact bulbs- one actinic and one 10000K daylight. It fits the tank nicely, with a little room on each side. I removed the half cover that came with the tank as well and cut a replacement that covers the entire top of the tank except for the filtration part, which greatly reduces evaporation. I have a couple of full tank pics that I will post on Monday as they are on my work computer, and I will take pics of the setup from the back to get a better idea. The tank sits next to my LCD flat panel computer monitor and looks pretty nice on my desk.

Great pics and thank you for sharing. I was going to try that exact same setup awhile ago but did the Red Sea aqua vase instead.

Yeah, I'd love to see some pics of the whole setup including the lights. Pics of the tank on your desk would rock too.

looking good! :)

One more

One more picture I couldnt resist posting. These pics had to be way reduced to post on this board. If you are interested in seeing some of the high resolution pics let me know and I can figure out a way to get them to you. Hope you all enjoy! I know my work productivity has reduced since I no longer look at my monitor and instead focus on the tank! Great stress relief!
