I think he's going to die. He's looking pretty skinny and has become kind of picky with what he eats. Today he didn't eat at all. OK so I wake up from a nice afternoon nap come out to check on my friends here and I notice that he's just swimming in one place. He normally roams and picks all on the little guys a little. Just enough for his own entertainment. So he's swimming in place. Then I move around to the side of the tank to look at him and he has a chunk of poo stuck in his sphincter. I tried to take a picture but he was too embarrased and swam under the rocks. Another thing that he never does. He's not a timid fish. I tried feeding the tank to see if he'd eat. so he started swimming around looking at all the food as if he approved but didn't eat any. All of my other fish are acting perfectly healthy, fine, normal, nice and chubby. So when I starting feeding he pushed most of the poo out but his sphincter is still open. It's like he has a 1/4" hole in his under side. This was about 3 hours ago. now he's hiding under the rocks. I have about 2 hours of light left on the tank and this is just not normal behavior.

Any thoughts?

no thoughts huh? Well he seams to be behaving a little more normal and he ate as well. still looks skinny so I'm going to try feeding him more often.

He's back to his normal self. Must have been sick or something. I'm just very relieved to see he's going to be OK. He's the most expensive live stock that I have right now and would hate to lose him.

no worries. I didn't think anyone had ever had a constipated fish before. So strange. I'm just very glad that I didn't lose him. He's such a great fish.

BTW, love your new avatar. It's hilarious. not quite as funny as the cat attacking the kid or the african dancer man, but pretty close. I guess it's funnier in a different kind of way though. anyway..... do you have different restrictions for your avatar becuase your a mod? everyone that I find is too big.

Not that I know of... I resize it, post it on photobucket.com, then link the url.

I just lost my little guy this morning. I set up Jesse's old 20L with a Koralia and aheater with tank water dosed it with Praz-Tastic and put him in there. I even fed him a little after to make sure he was calm and he ate. This morning I came out and he was gone, just floating around. I tried to recessitate but nothing worked.

What a bummer.
