My 95gallon, Acrylic Tank

Well i started this tank around a year ago, i just bought 7 fish and lost 6 of them... They were Schooling fish they looked like zebras, oh i forget the name. I'm new here so i decided to post what i own here at home.

I have 5 fish currently, 2 coral, my mushroom coral looks bad today I'm not sure why.

Yes I'm building this tank very carefully I'm tired of my lousy mistakes causing me to loose a few fish or a coral.

I like the rockwork! Are you sure that's a mushroom? Kind of looks like a leather of some sort (I admit my Identification skills are not great).

By the way...

PS Any photos of the works underneath the tank?

Leather thats right, i have a mushroom aswell very small one!

Thanks, My Identification skills are horrible... I have to use a book, lol!

Oh well it should get better over time!

I really want a nano tank aswell!


PS: I will take a pic of the under fun soon!

How is it sad looking? Its hard to build up live rock with a 3 sided tank facing a hall way area and a kitchen area, then a movie room. Any suggestions?

ohhhhh ok, its making me mad too i got purple up and some other stuff to help getting them to look a lot better. Yea its live rock, but they sat outside for over 4 days out of water before they were put in the tank... That may be why. I have new pictures i got some more corals and 2 green tipped anemones today!

Id see abpit maby geting a few little small rocks (4 pounds) and let them cycle in a 5gal bucket of tank water change and add that to help with the life because if they set out for 4days they are now just concederd base rock

True, we did add about 2 1/2 pounds of live rock on the left side of the tank about 2 months ago i might do it again. also it may have only been like 2 days but still yea its barley considered live rock anymore...

Forget the name of this purple grass stuff, but i heard it spreads pretty good, hopefully i can transfer some to my future nano tank:

Here's what you requested, not much I'm going to get a sump soon once i get more corals and a bigger sump. The guy who used to supply me gave me crappy parts.

Nice pics. I am concerned about a couple of things though and forgive me if this has been covered somewhere already. One, what are your nitrates? Those bioballs scare me if you are housing corals. Secondly, what lighting are you running on this tank?

If I was you id do a 20L or a 10 wich ever will fit in the place of the char. And just fill it with 50 pounds of live rock put in a heater and a light over it no sand and let it cycle after it dose add a cuc and then plum the tank in to that and remove your old sump.

(Forget the name of this purple grass stuff, but i heard it spreads pretty good, hopefully i can transfer some to my future nano tank)

Ok lighting, 2 White FR48T12/ VHO and 2 Blue FR48T12/ VHO - Seems good enough... They run across the whole tank up top.

And yes i used to have problems with nitrates but i haven't checked my nitrates for months... I'm bad :(

But i have been adding these nitrate things, there like little beads inside a mesh bags and i just place it in the wet/ dry filter!

Its like driving a car blind only time be for this tank will crash once more.

Plz let us help you I see what can be a REALLY REALLY REALLY nice tank but you have got to let us help you and it will only work if you do it all not just a little of what we tell you

From one of my other posts...

The main problem with ceramic rings... and most other biological media (*including bioballs*)excluding LR... is that it lacks the anaerobic region necessary for completing the nitrogen cycle. Without that anaerobic area, nitrates cannot be turned into nitrogen gas. So, you are left with a build-up of nitrates instead of the nitrogen gas which can escape on its own into the atmosphere.

I'd get those out if it were my tank. They are okay in FO (fish-only) tanks, but are not safe for a tank that is housing corals which are much more sensitive to nitrates than fish are.

I think he needs to hold up on pulling any of it tell he has a new refugum set up.

Well what kind? My tank is a body builder with and anorexic wet/dry filter....

I sorta want a nice old sump made outa glass, but idk how much it would run me...

Thanks guys, the guy who cleans my tank said he was worried with my wet/dry filter but we could wait until we get more coral...
