heres my 20T - it's actually about a 15 gal because it has a built in sump that takes up about a quarter of the tank. The way I built this is posted in an earlier thread somewhere. This tank will be moved 2x a year so it was built to simplify that task, make water changes easy, supply good flow, and keep the surface crystal clear. All I have in there is a blood shrimp, the anemone and my pair of clowns. There was a ton of macro algae before the move but I culled a bunch out.

I like what you did...the two clowns and the anemone are amazing...I always wanted to do that but the fact that anemones move makes me wonder what would happen to my tank with an anemone inside. But what you did is really cool. Makes me want to set up a third tank....

thanks all the kids really love it - the whole finding nemo theme
yea thats halmedia and about 4 other types of red and green algaes - no caulerpa though
master er yea anemones can be a prob - but thats why this tank is as is. There are no other cnidarians in there for it to sting if it decides to do a walk about, the heater and pump are in the sump so it can't get hurt, The overflow is the full width of the tank (12") so it can't get sucked in. Basically I tried to make it as anemone freindly as I could for my little biotope. I know I've said this to others but anemones really belong in a tank by themselves, but that can be kinda plain looking and hence the back reef/lagoon look I've tried to build. I had an anemone many years ago that lived for about 5 years and then died for no apparent reason. I then tried one another time, but it never did well (shipping handleing issues I believe) so this is the last try. If this don't work out I'm going back to corals - much easier!!!! Gotta love nanos right there is always room for a third or a forth or.......... :)

I've never had any luck with halmedia. I guess you're doing something right. I know high calcuim levels are important but there must be something else needed to make them happy.

yea dj halmedia can be a PITA, but I have a couple stands of it in my 125. I've had it for a very long time (8 years maybe?) and sometimes it grows like crazy (I've pulled ice cream buckets of it out before) and sometimes it will turn white and die but the "roots" always come back. If you break a chunk off and plant it in the sand it will root and then you can put it wherever you want and it will attach itself. But sorry, I can't isolate the secrete to keeping it either........????
Dragon I have a Coralife 2 x 65 PC fixture, I feed the anemone heavy and hope that it's enough. I am running 65 W 10K PCs on one end of my big tank supplimented with VHO actinics and the corals in there are doing great.

Seems like you've got a nice healthy specimen there. I might be talking to you about a frag of it sometime...
