My 2.5 gallon. Any ideas?

Hey guys,
I've had my 2.5 setup for over half a year now and I really haven't done much with it. Its got some nice rock (maybe a little too much) in it but other than that, its pretty much bare. I've been contrating mainly on my 5.5 and have just neglected the 2.5. So the question is does anyone have any unusual or unique ideas for the tank?

I was considering making it a mushroom tank and just load it up with different colored shrooms. Or maybe get like 5 or 10 sexy shrimp and grow different types of algae in it? Help me with this one...its bland right now

Mushrooms get to big you need something smaller.....................

An all zoo tank would be very impressive, say 4-5 polyps of every color you could find. A couple of sexy shrimp, a red leg or two and no fish.

Damn not I want to set up another tank.

Well, I plan to do the zoo tank thing but in my 5.5 b/c the lighting is so good. The 2.5 only has 13X2 watts and I'm not so sure that zoanthinds would thrive with that kind of lighting. Hmmmm...

Have you considered using it as a refugium for your 20G? Set up on a small stand next to your 20G? That way you could have both a fuge and that planted tank you were talking about.

Hmm...I've been running my 20 gal for almost 2 yrs without a fuge so I don't really see a need for it now.

Maybe a seahorse tank?

Yeah, I think seahorses are pretty hard to keep but people have been successful.

I'm now leaning to a xenia and/or frag tank.

I decided to start fragging some xenia and green star polyps in my 2.5 and finally put it to good use. Below is what I did this weekend. I cut the GSP out of my 20 gallon and cut off a 3 little pieces of xenia out of my 5.5. A long time ago I heard about using needle and thread to mount xenia frags so I gave it a whirl...

Hmmm...that hammer is my most prized coral. Its actually two corals on the same piece but I could break it into two pieces if I really needed to. Right now I like him as the king of my 20 gal.
