Try washing the hydrometer in vinegar , rince well , also try giving it a tap on the counter to remove bubbles after you fill it with tank water. The vinegar takes off the salt deposits .......as for the 1.025 that is what ours is at between that and 1.024 . I never did like the deep six I thought they were kinda hard to use .. I guess its just a matter of opinion .
