Two things... how long does mushroom coral take to open up? and second... will fungia attack my featherduster?

Oh one more thing, does anyone know what type of fish edgray has as his avatar?

well normally shrooms take a while to fully expand so u most always leave alot of space between any corals but if you want them to be close to other shrooms well you can do that but one or the other will cover the other one but normally they will open really nicely the next day or hours later after acclimating but all depends on them but they also grow like my hairy shroom i got was like 2" in diameter and know expands to almost 5" in diameter.
and well your fungia will not attack your feather duster maybe sting it if you get one with long tentacles or if you put it to close to it, by the way remember to put it on the sand bed ok..
and well the goby in my avatar is a CATALINA GOBY, a really nite fish with alot personality but is a cold water fish (not tropical like most common fish everyone keep). (mine was kept on a 12g temp 76f but i move him to my 2.5g tank temp 73-75f)

The Catalina Goby, also known as the Bluebanded Goby, was one of the first fish to be successfully farm raised, and it is considered one of the easiest marine fish to breed. It has an orange body with patches of blue on the head and face, and lighter blue vertical stripes on the anterior (front) half of the body. Males have a very dramatic eyespot on the fan-like dorsal fin.
Very striking when kept in small schools, the small Catalina Gobies will dart in and out of the rockwork and perch on their favorite lookout in the reef aquarium. It is not usually an aggressive fish, but may quarrel with conspecifics if housed together in a small tank. An aquarium of 10 gallons or larger is usually suitable.
Although it will tolerate a tropical water temperature, (76 to 78ºF), the Catalina Goby prefers the cooler temperatures associated with the island where found, Catalina Island, off the coast of Los Angeles, California. Temperatures there range from 60 to 72ºF.
In the wild, the Catalina Goby eats small pieces of fish and plant material. In the aquarium, it will consume almost any prepared foods for carnivores, mysid shrimp, table shrimp, and vitamin-enriched brine shrimp. It should be fed twice per day.
