Hey Everyone,

First thing I want to say Thx to TimSchmidt for helping and understanding thing to me. Will I was resptcting to start up slow buying thing but it was fast buying thing for my tank because I was getting good deal on thing :). I was planing to start up my tank when I move but I don't think I will have any wrong with a 5 gallon tank my friend and me will take it when it time for me to move . I have to be a 20H too I have a water tulte. that is heavyer then my 5 gallon tank >.> . I start up the tank last night. Here What I got.

Used-5 Gal Tank-5.00
New-AC30-47.00
Used-AC10-Powerhead-12.00
Used-PC Light Coralife 12''36watt-15.00
Live Sand 5lbs-10.00
New-Heater-15.00
PETCO Real Ocean Water-12.00
Live Rock-2 half pound 11.00-(Going back next month to get 2 half pound Of Florida LR)



This is the pics of my tank last night when I have started it up.






Ok here a pics from this moring befor I went to church. And after takeing the pic known there was a 2 small bug on the rl is that bad? I did not take a pic of it because the pic did not come out good on my cell phone. Oh yea the lr on the right right it had a corals on it a baby green mushroom.


NOTE: I have a computer but not with a net so whenver I'm at my mom or grammy I will keep you all posted :). I'm on here this site and on nano-reef.com.

Looks like a good start! Nice and easy on the start to let the tank *mature*. Keep an eye on temperatures and PH with that glass hood in place.

Ok I will. It doing good so far I got the water tested at the fish store on mondayup the street they say it doing great but my Nitrate is a litter high. But they say my tank sould be ready this weeked for fish! I have taked my pics of my tank today. But I'm at the library. But I can't get the pic on there sigh! I will keep I eye on it Tim. my baby corals look pretty but it look puple and a litter of green on it. when I first got it it look green. Ye Tim I want to get a light hold for my light. But I don't know what one to get.

EDIT: When do I put Cheato in there? When do you think I sould start clean the tank next week or next month?

You can put the cheato in your filter now if you want. Let the tank cycle then you can start with water changes.

I will like to put it in there but I do'nt have move for it in the filer I was thinkin put beild the lr. and If I did put it in the filter don't I need a mini light for it to keep it a live?I need to get a light timer. I'm gettin it next month when I get mt 2 and a half of rock..

UpDate On Friday Feb.27,2009 I got a rl it 1 and a half pound. it not flroia rock. and I got a coals.

Ok here my Update of Pics :). And I cleaned the tank last friday on the mar 13. I seted up the tank last feb 14 so I was going to clean it on a the 14 but did it on a 13 and that mean my tank is 1 month old and I'm doing good :).I will be cleaning it again on the mar.27. Join the pics :).

Well guys my fish is dieing because of me my bad. I got the water tested and it because when I clean it I have taked out to much bacteria. OOPS! So I got some stuff to help the tank. So I will not clean till next month just to be sure it back to norml. So this what I'm going to do I'm just going to get some corals and get the fish last. later or I might not put a fish it. it might just be a corals and shamip tank..

The corals will die faster than the fish will if your parameters are off. Just leave it alone for awhile and do water changes. Good luck.

Check out the local tool shop for some egg crate. If you double it up under the light it will support the light, not soak up the H20 like the wood, and there will not be as much salt creep in the future (easy to clean). Cool tanks take a bit for sure so make sure to go slow and steady. Best of luck!!!

Those small gobies are kewl. I have a yellow one. However, can't get'em to eat well. :( Let me know if you find the "trick". I try rotifers, cyclops, and mini mysis...

Hmm are you sure my fish eat all the time. When I put the food in there he going after it fast and when it hideing in the rock it still come out and eat. I feed it Sally's Frozen brine Shrimp.
