Hey,
I needed to find out what to do if a clam is half out of his shell. I have heard that a fresh water dip is good, but can you do an iodine dip with clams? I am trying to save a teardrop maxima. I am going to try the fresh water dip. heres a BEFORE FOTO. thanks.

Well I found that info from Reef Central regarding the freshwater dips, as I told you already in nanochat, but to gain more insight on clams in general, there is this one site that incysor was talking about that's dedicated to clams and their concerns. Perhaps you can PM him or he'll catch your thread.

Yes I did a fresh water dip. I placed distilled water in a ziplock bag, aclimated the bag and the clam in his separate bag, then I put about a tablespoon of baking soda to get the same ph as my tank. I placed him in the fresh water dip for 5 min. and its almost at a full recovery since.
