How much lighting does it need? The reason I am asking is because I will eventually make my AC 70 into a refugium. Also, in the future I might make a planted tank for sea horses.

I believe that a small pc fixture...like one that would go on a betta tank...would be enough for an AC70. like an 18 watt compact fluorescent maybe.

You can grow macroalgaes under almost any lightsource. The most popular ones are a clamp on light with one of the compact fluorescent bulbs like this one: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/P ... 004+113346 . Or another popular option is a light like this one: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/P ... 004+113345 , I have used one of the Palm lights and it worked quite well. Another plus for this fixture is that it can be clamped right on the side of the hang on filter. HTH, Skip
