LR to Water Surface?

Is there a minimum recommended distance between the top of the LR and the water surface?
I have mine set up probably 1 - 1.5 inches below the water surface. Do you think this is OK?

you should be ok as long as you keep the water topped off :mrgreen:
if it were me I would try to drop it down a bit however it is not "required"

The only problem with having the LR so high is that in a reeftank you cannot add corals to the top of the LR or they will be out of water. There is no rule otherwise.
