yea, my only concern was him growing and eventually eating coral/fish that sleep near the rock (if they are sick or whatever)...right now i dont mind his presence, especially after reading that most LR has them... and i can use all the cleaning help i can get since im just using a standard HOB filter
Unless it gets really large it's unlikely to go after a sleeping fish as long as the fish is healthy. Many of them may not go after fish no matter how large they get. Think of them as tank vultures. Vultures eat dead animals, and if they're really hungry may attempt one that's very, very injured, but not quite dead yet, but they're not ever going to go after something that's healthy. Consider BWs as just part of the tank. You're NEVER going to get rid of all of them, even if you FW dipped every piece of rock and coral that you ever put in your tank, some of them will still survive and make it in the tank. Keep an eye out for exceptionally large ones, (10"-12" or larger), or if you see one that you think is a fireworm pull it out, but otherwise you'll drive yourself crazy if you worry about every BW you see.

Hi incysor,

I don't have any articles in mind either. My information was based on my personal experience as well as other reefers'. It has happened to me twice where a bristle tried to web down my clown as a baby...boy was I pissed. It has also happened to a couple of friends of mine as well...and it wasn't really until lately from another board that I was reminded of it and how bristles can do that. So no, I'm afraid I can't refer to you any websites with articles regarding that.

Here is one post that knows about bristle webbing:

http://www.saltwaterfish.com/vb/showthr ... ristle+web

"...3 - There is a Bristle Worm that can wrap a small fish in a numbing web and kill it. They are not unknown to aquariums but very rare..."

That guy knows his stuff, he's helped me with much of my tank so I usually go to him for ID's or problems.

i think the webbing in my tank was just bacteria die off.. I havent seen it since and it dried up after about 2 days... Mind you it showed up about 24hrs after i initially set the tank up, so some bacteria die off on the rock made sense...
