Low light corals

Hi Guys,

What corals will do well with less then 4 watts per Gallon? (Example 18 watts on a 5.5G or 6G tank less then 10" high).

I was thinking of Suns, Gorgonian, mushrooms and would that be enough light for Zoos and Yellow polyp's?

What other low light corals are there?

Thanks,

Eric

Hi the gorgonias are really hard to keep and well i think will be enough for any kind of shrooms and polys some like little light and some strong is up to them somethimes....you know moderate to high lighting....

Most shrooms will be ok as will GSP , some of the normal color zoas (browns, greens) and even a trumpet may do well IMHO . I am sure that others will have some input as well HTH

Xenia would probably do well too. Any filter feeder like featherdusters and NON-photosynthetic gorgonians. It would also be a good idea to target feed the polyps and zoas to keep them thriving.

Thanks for the help guys,

I am spot feeding all my zoas and yellow polys once a week and they are growing like crazy right now so if I upgrade I will continue spot feeding them.

I am thinking of upgrading my tank or maybe getting a 6G Nanocube (they only come with a 18 watt 50/50 light)

Skip are you talking about this kind of Xenia? (Xenia - Pumping) That stuff look real cool my LFS has a whole pile of it.

Could I also keep some Kenya Tree Coral?

Thanks,

Eric
