Live rock in Houston?

Well, I made my last live rock purchase for my nanos online at Premium Aquatics if that tells you anything. City Pets, Fish Ranch, or Global Fish N Pet all on the southwest side would probably be the cheapest. As far as quality goes I guess you'd just have to drive around and take a look. Maybe you'll get lucky and find a fresh shipment.

My online purchase was for Marshall Island live rock (see Vendor Feedback for pics) and it was $3.49/lb + shipping which actually wasn't too much. Most of the places around Houston will sell Fiji for about $5.00/lb.

Here are some pics of a little more rock I picked up on Friday for 2 of my nanos. I purchased it at Fish Ranch on I-59. I got it for $4.99/lb. I believe its a mix of Fiji, Marshall and Tonga rubble. Not bad for a LFS and I'm happy with it so far.

Global generally sells LR for $3.99lb. Although sometimes it is a little bit more expensive. I've heard that Aquatic center also has good prices although I haven't checked them out.

I was just at Aquatic Center and forgot to check out the live rock price. The rock all looked pretty nice. The batch I checked out was cured and had some nice coralline growth.
