Picked up some LR today to turn it into some rubble. As I broke a piece I discovered this. What is this.

I have a few of those probably an empty shell perhaps from a clam or oyster ?

yeah, they open up, and whatever meaty food is just eaten by hermits. In my girlfriends 12 gallon, no matter where you'd look, you wouldn't find it attached to any rock, but somehow it'll show up on the sand bed somewhere, where it looks just like that but opened up and empty. Since you can see yours, just remove it, and that'll be the end of that

still looks alive.....only saying that because of the way its attached to the rock. i pull little ones similar to that one off my LR all the time. i just pull them off and let them fall to the sand. usually i would leave something like that where i found it but they always find themselves somewhere i dont want them....lol
