Does anyone know if I can upgrade my lighting on a 12 gallon eclipse tank? I didnt do enough research before I bought it and didnt realize the 14watt bulbs arent really enough to support any corals. Everything is in the hood. Any ideas or suggestions?

Not sure about a direct replacement but I am sure you can mod it to get a better light in there or atleast add a second light. What are the dimensions?

Direct replacement I think limits you to power compact with a screw in base. There are retrofit kits that would do nicely. If have any ability to build your own hood the sky is the limit on lighting.

THe problem with that is all of the filtration is built into the hood on the Eclipse tanks so you would have to add a HOB filter or something if you built your own hood.

Hi. I have a 12G eclipse and put a sunpaq 15" Retrofit Double Lamp 2x32watt on it. It cost me $80 and only required a little bit of work to get it to fit. I have the standard filter system and do water changes every 3 or 4 weeks. My corals are thriving. I haven't added any fish and may not.
