most people run their actinic 12 hours, 10k's 10 hours so for example; actinics come on at 7am, 10k's at 8am ----- 10k's off at 6pm and actinics off at 7pm. Your moonlights would be on when the others are off. You can of course shift that in any direction you want depending on your work schedule so you can enjoy your tank with the lights on, just so that the 12/10 is mantained. However this is only a guidline and people do many other things successfully for example - many people with halids only run them like 8 hours a day, so there are other options as well.

I run my PCs with the schedule mentioned above to produce the dawn/dusk effect. Its worked out great for me.

Might want to start off a little less then work your way up to 12 hr photoperiod to reduce and algae bloom.

Not as long as your corals are doing well.

Here's my schedule copied from another thread.

Here's my photoperiods. I work from about 8am to 6pm so most of my tanks are dark for most of the day so that I can enjoy or work on them when I get home for at least a few hours. I don't change the photoperiods for the weekends.

1pm
96w PC lights on 40g come on

2pm
65w PC lights on 25 come on
110w VHO lamps on 75 come on

5pm 175w MH light on 75g comes on

9pm 175w MH light on 75g goes off

10pm
110w VHO lamps on 75g go off
65w PC lights on 25 go off

11pm
96w PC lights on 40g go off

As for my work nano:
9am 32w PC lights go on
8pm 32w PC lights go off.
