Wow, just picked up some Marshall Island live rock at a local fish store here in Houston. Got it for $4.99/lb. Also got a Rose Anemone and a Fox coral frag. Don't know much about the Rose anemone but it sure is beautiful. Its got this glowing orange color that looks amazing. Will post some pics later...

Here are some pics of a little more rock I picked up on Friday for 2 of my nanos. I got it for $4.99/lb. I believe its a mix of Fiji, Marshall and Tonga rubble.

If i remember correctly, i believe i saw a large one for sale for $99 at one of my LFS. $30 sounds like a good price, i would buy it.

Nice. Just wondering, who is your lfs? I'm in the Houston area and am trying to find a few good ones. (I know there are some out there)

Good to see some other locals out there.

I'm still trying to find a good local dealer to buy my live rock off of...I'd much rather not go through all the hassle of having some shipped. Unfortunately, there aren't many good marine stores in my area (southeast New Hampshire), or if they are, they're expensive as hell.

You probably wont find any Local fish store that sells live rock for under 5.49/ lb If you buy enough, some places will ship it for free. I know liveaquaria has some good rock if you wanted to check them out.

There was a LFS back up north where I used to live that would regularly sell LR for $8.99-$11.99/pound! The rock wasn't even all that great...oftentimes, it was base rock with a little bit of coralline and sponges on it. Talk about raping the consumer, huh?

Wow Flame...I feel your pain :-s

Purple Haze- that rock was purchased at Fish Ranch. I guess I forgot to mention where I got it. I usually don't get much stuff from there because they are very unhelpful and their dry goods are outrageously priced. Their corals are overpriced as well but they do have a nice selection of healthy fish. What places do you frequent?

I think I'm going to create a H-town Reefers section for the site.

I havent yet set up my tank yet. I'm getting quite close to deciding just what i want to do and getting to know whats available in the Houston area.

The Houston section gets my vote ;)

The idea to setup a Houston Reefers section has been put to life and is now fully functional in the Lounge section. Enjoy!
