Thanks Ed... I'll PM you!

Steven would a 6 line take car of the bigger monsters too? I mean this sucker maybe 6-8 inches long? Plus I know he can take a beating since he almost got cut in half by me last night....
If his mouth can fit around it, he'll tear it into smaller pieces. The arrow crab would be an interesting crab to see putting his small arms in there to drag it out, but not sure, I've only heard, and not seen or experienced first hand.

The wrasse on the other hand are always hunting and nipping at anything resembling a worm :0)

Steven so a 6 line would be able to stay in a 5 gallon? I know you said yes but just want to confirm it. Funny you said that about arrow crab. My LFS said he heard that they eat bristles and was going to capture a bristle to feed it to the arrow, but there was about 4-5 people needing help so I said don't worry about it. ha,ha,ha I feel the arrow looks way to big for a 5 gallon since its so lankey!

Hey,
I have a little trick ya can try for the bristle worm. I had a huge one (bout 6 inches..big enough for me to call huge) in my tank a early in its life and it gave me the willies as well.

This actually worked the first night I tried it. I just took a piece of pantyhose like they have for women to try on shoes at the shoe store. Added 1/2 a piece of raw shrimp into the hose and tied it up in the end. Take the loose end of the hose and lay it around the tied up shrimp so the worm will have to crawl over the hose to get to the shrimp. The worm gets all tangled up and cang get free..

A guy at work told me it would work and it did quite nicely. I did get a wierd look from the meat guy when I asked for 1 shrimp.

On a side note, I have heard of this working before.

Yeah, the tie is to make sure something else can't get to the shrimp or a lucky catch by the bristle. The key is to make sure its body comes in contact with the hose on its way to the shrimp. To be honest...my shrimp only stayed in the tank about 30 minutes before I had the critter. May even tie a string to it to pull it up without chancing an accidental touch.

Good Luck!!!

Oh yeah, I just sat it out on the sand even though I had only seen it on the rocks. Better chance of getting it in one piece that way too..well, I am guessing about that point but makes sense to me.

I don't see why it wouldn't do the same job.

I only had live rock when I performed this and had no shrimp of any kind on hand. I am allergic to shellfish...can't wait to see how this turns out feeding shrimp to little buddies in my tank someday.

I just called around to my local LFS and one of the main LFS here said 6 lines won't eat bristle worms. :?: He said he general carrys them but he's all out. He stated their on order. So.... The LFS is probably one of the highest regarded LFS here in my county.... Then again I'd be very disappointed in buying a fish that won't do the job that it was suppose to do  I just wanted to make sure more than one individual saw their 6/12 line eat a bristle worm, rather than going with one individuals wrasse. Just confused now...

Semo the only thing is that its small nano 6 gallon with a 13 pound rock! I have some mushrooms, small frags and a small feather duster. I'm scared of the panty hose being to big cause there are alot of bristle worms I want out. Actually just the big ones! Hope it works for Eddy... cause I saw his aquascape and if it works for him it might acutally work for me. Thanks again!

well the information that dragon79 is true cause normaly six line eat anything with the shape of worm or something here is the info that liveaquaria privides about them....

It will search for live foods in the form of small crustaceans such as pyramidellid snails (clam parasites), urchins, and commensal flatworms. Six Line Wrasse are also known to feed on unwanted pests on live rock, such as bristleworms.

and sometimes well all the time dont trust your LFS cause they dont know what they are talking about once in awhile they no alot but not normally so whatever they say first verify with you nano friends and do search so you know the truth...

I dont trust what any LFS says unless it is something I have heard at numerous other places. I always go and research something if it is the first time I have heard of it.

I trust other's experiences more than anything I here at a LFS.
