I just purchased a Jebo Oddesey skimmer and had it about a month. Now its just circulating water with no bubbles! I thought the line would have been plugged but I blew in it and air went through. I tried adjusting the water flow and still no luck. It was working and all of a sudden it gradually stop incorporating air in the circulation? PLEASE ANYONE ANY SUGGESTIONS! :cryinga:

Some one had asked about these skimmers another time. Not sure if they ever got it to work or not. Well I have read alto of bad things about said company and parts. You truly get what you pay for. Not sure what to tell you but maybe do a massive search on the RC or something. Hopefully you can find a solution to your problem.

I know that sometimes on my bak pak that the nozzle or outlet on the pump that sucks water into the pump will get clogged...but it seems that you have looked into that aleady. I am not all that familiar with the counter-current skimmers like the one you have though... I am sure that someone here can help you out.

I took the skimmer apart and cleaned everything to the point that it was new again. I couldn't figure what was wrong! So I thought of the air inlet where it was connected to the skimmer. Why not enlarge the hole where the air enters the skimmer. So I took out my drill bit and enlarged the whole, hoping that more air would be able to be incorporated to the skimmer. My gosh..... it worked! The skimmer is skimming like none other!
Yes, I know the saying, "you get what you pay for". But it is an expensive hobby and how many beginners jump to elite products or even the maintenance of expensive corals? Again, I'm working my way up there and when I do get a larger tank I'll get a more brand recommended product. Thanks for atleast attempting to help, thats the great thing about thi site everyone's nice..... :maitre

How about some pics of that skimmer in action, that would be nice. What size tank do you have the skimmer connected to?

Mike,
I'll get some pics up once I borrow my girlfriends camera. Actually, once I'm done laying out some tiles in my bathroom first. I looked at the skimmer again and the water level is staying where it suppose to be about inch from the top of the skim collector.
When I first got the skimmer the water level would fluctuate but stablized after a week. So far so good.... The only thing is do I really need a skimmer if I have a coral only 20 long? It takes a week before any real skim is collected? I'll post pics, thanks.

Glad to hear you got the thing working :D

I guess it would depend on what kind of coral your keeping. And also how often you do a water change. If anything it wont hurt to have the skimmer running. But if you do water changes once a week and keep sps only I'd think you could get by with out using a skimmer. But hey I might be wrong.

Thanks Vafik for your opinion. Yeah, I might put a mandarine goby and some peppermint/skunk shrimps and maybe an algae blenny in the future.... Nothing too big nor fancy. But I'm gonna wait till I know where I'll put the tank for sure cause the skimmer is making too much noise since its in my bedroom. Thanks again...
