Depends on what kind of fish you get. There are some that are more prone to jumping than others. You can still get a glass cover if you are worried about it.

Just take into account the heat that these lights produce! My buddy has one and it heated up his small living room! He has the Viper 150, its the older model if they have newer ones out. Had to put my two cents in cause I never thought of the heat it produces until I was there first hand :mrgreen: Great light overal!

Yah I have two tank bred percula fishes and for some reason (twice only so far) that they have jumped in the back of my tank.. not OUTSIDE but just the back of my 6g nano, but I saved them..heh :)

Why are glass lids NOT a good idea?

Glass lids can cause high temps and can block oxygen exchange in some tanks. They will cut down on the amount of PAR making it into the tank as well.

Not only that but it sucks to have to clean them all the time. You will get salt creep on them like none other.
