haven't been around in a long long while but i thought i'd share my new tank with you guys. if you don't remember, this was my old tank, http://nanotank.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1903 (well the set-up wasn't old but the tank was about 8 years old and all scratched up). since then i've got a job at the best LFS for miles around. it's a small privately owned place and the owner has had a service company flourishing for over 15 years. so i got a 5 gal made by a company called Odyssea. it's roughly based on the nano cube but much more cost effective (we sell it for $60). the filter is housed in the hood next to the lights. this tank came with a pretty crappy pump and 18watts of light. so i had to fix those of course. i gutted and retrofit my 36watt coralife pc into the hood (had to cut quite a bit of plastic), replaced the pump with a MJ-400 and added a rio 50 for a little extra flow. then the tank ran hot the day after getting everything in. 85.7 was the highest. so i found the smallest pc fan i could get and fixed the problem tonight. i think that the corals will look better in a couple of days. ok here's the pics...
like my "indo-pacific" substrate? it's white sand from my 60 and tahitian moon i had laying around.
lights
filter (i know running with that pad is not a good idea but it's pretty noisy without it)
fan (the bottle cap is for a size reference)
