Is this enough light?

I have an acrylic tank 30 gallons. It is 36 x10 x 17. I would like to keep frogspawn, hydnophora, ricordia,mushrooms, toadstool, and Zooas , LPs, etc


I would like to know if four 36" 39 watt T5 HO will be enough light? Does anyone think I should get 6 or 8 39 watt T5's. Thank you for your time.

Yeah, that should be plenty of light. The tank is 17" tall right? What kind of reflectors do you have? Is it a Tek light fixture? The key to T-5 HO's is a good ballast and good reflectors... the individual parabolic reflectors like the Icecap's are the best.

Thanks! I dont have any lights at the moment. Im shopping for lighting. Anyone recommend a website? Ebay has many but im not sure about those guys.

I am sure that will be enough light for what you are planning now....but I would go as much and as big as you can afford. Before you know it you will be changing things and want to keep more high light corals. Just an idea...I change my mind like every month. Softies...LPS...SPS...never ends. :roll:

dito......fourth or fifth with me. stands and canopy and lighting and filteration and tank.......i like to change everything. ha ha

cha cha knows im always modding or changing.

It looks like eventually I will be building a real canopy. I plan on mounting the 150 watter in there with a single 24" VHO actinic lamp.
