Is a Nano tank a better starter than any other regular tank?

Ok..so I used a 50 gallon tank for freshwater for years..then went down to 35 gallon hex tank for freshwater..I finally switched it to saltwater and tried to research as much as possible. I lost a crab who I think got crushed under a rock that never moved??..hmm..a cleaner died..a starfish began losing legs and finally died.. and two expensive tangs..bought on different occassions both apparently got some kind of ich or white spots which eventually killed them. After that I gave up..no fish for like 3 years now. I'm intrigued by the nano tank however and wonder if it is a better way to go. Any thoughts??...anybody???

Nano's are fine but not better.
Proper cycling and water parameters are crucial to any tank.
The tangs were not a good choice for the hex, as they need lots more room to swim.

hmm..wish thanks for replying. Wish I would have known about this site when I first got started. I used tap water as well and it appears that was probably not a good choice either. It just appeared that the nano had all the equipment already with it for a saltwater. All I had on my other tank was one powerhead, and a hang on the back carbon filter system. So is the 28 gl nano also to small for tangs??

I also wanted to get something like a blue hippo... are they similar to tangs or could i put one in these nano tanks?

The blue hippo is a tang, so alas..not for nanos.
But if you follow proper husbandry, including no tap water,there's lots of nice fish you could introduce into a properly cycled nano. Nemo would be quite happy there

Thanks...was afraid u'd say that... I had thought of getting a clown fish as well so at least thats good news...hmm
