Hey everyone. I'm back. Sort of. Due to money issues I've downsized quite a bit. It's been a difficult few weeks. On the bright side, there's room for my massage table in the living room now.

Living room before.

Living room now.

Welcome back,

My brother and I were a little worried since we had not heard from you in a while.

I am glad to see you up and running and back at the helm. I for one look forward to every one of your post; you are very knowledgeable.

Incysor where is your big reef? Did you sell it? Did I miss an old post where you explain everything?

Just curious, but hey glad you are back...

The main thing that has kept me from being on here lately is work is REALLY busy right now, so I just haven't had time to get on the boards I frequent much.

Ongoing medical bills related to my wife's breast cancer ordeal have led me to the decision that it was time to seriously downsize.

Tuesday I made a list of all the stuff in/on the tanks that I was planning on selling. I posted the list to MARSH, and ran a spreadsheet to keep track of who was getting what.

Wednesday night I broke down the 25g small agressive tank.

Thursday night I took the 40g octo tank offline and broke it down, and met a guy at 11pm to pick up his used 30g oceanic cube.

Friday afternoon/evening I took everything out of the 75g, except about half the water and the sand. About 3am I managed to get the 30g set up and the LR, and stock put in that I planned on keeping.

Saturday people started showing up about 10am to pick stuff up. By 6:30pm I had all the LR, LS, and most of the livestock sold. I also had a few pieces of equipment sold. I cleaned most of the rest of the sand/water out of the 75g by 8:30.

Sunday morning I had a few more people come over to pick up more livestock, and equipment. One of the guys got a small discount on what he was buying for helping me move the 75g out into the yard so I could finish cleaning it out.
A buddy came by that afternoon and helped me get the stand/tank/canopy moved into the garage. That evening I took the remaining livestock to one of the LFS for store credit.

I still have people coming by this week for some equipment, and I'll deliver some to another person this weekend. I still have all the tanks, most of the lights, and a bit of equipment I'll need to get rid of, but all in all, it went pretty smoothly. I'll have to take a pic of the tanks all lined up in the garage in the next day or so. It's an interesting sight to see them all lined up that way.

Wow,

You have been busy with your tanks. I always wondered how you had time for all those tanks, I could barely manage my two cubes and my pico so I too sold everything to purchase my 72 gallon reef.

One tank is all I need and if I ever get a second tank it will be my brothers old pico that is collecting dust at his apartment.

During thanksgiving break I will attempt to kidknap it from his home.

I hope your wife is doing tons better, didn't know she had breast cancer. My wife just had her yearly physical and they found small bumps in one of her breast and are analyzing it.

She had the same bumps last year and it wasn't nothing to be concerned, I hope this is the case again.

I hope to see the same tender care on the 30 gallon oceanic cube that you had for your other tanks.

You will also save a lot on electricity and maybe can use that small savings on your knew setup.

My wife was 29 when she was diagnosed. We didn't, (and still don't), have insurance. 3 rounds of chemo, 2 lumpectomies, 1 round of radiation and the cancer is gone. She's been clear now for about a year and a half. The ongoing stuff has to do with the way the chemo messed up her hormones. It's caused a lot of depression, anxiety, ADD, and ADHD type stuff. Docs and meds for this are pricey. We just filed for bankruptcy last month. Not a fun couple of years.

If your wife went through this once and it turned out to be cysts, or fibroids it's probably the same thing again. But it definitely pays to stay on top of it. If Shannen hadn't caught it early things would have been much, much worse.

Yep, electricity should be less, additives will be less, salt will certainly go further, and I simply can't cram as much livestock into this size tank. :)

Brian,

My wife and I have only been married 2 years and she didn't have any insurance untill we got married.

So she started a lot of checkups and she is trying to keep on all recommendations from the doctors.

Becuase the doctor found this lump he wants her off all sweets and sugars, so she has cut out sodas and candy; she was a candy junkie.

Her first analysis showed it was a cyst so I hope it's the same thing again.

How long have you been married if you don't mind that I ask and I've never heard you talk about Incysor Jr. Do you have any children? Do you plan on children?

Sorry about the questions and you don't have to answer if it's personal.

I am very sorry to hear about your wifes health issues. As a paramedic I see all kinds of suffering every day and wish your wife the best. I am happy to see that you are only downsizing and not getting out all together, you have shared a wealth of knowledge on this board. Take care, Skip

We'd been together for 6yrs when we got married. She was diagnosed six months later. We've been married for three and a half years now. No kids. Don't want any in the next few years.

I can certainly see the fustrations , too many people dont have health insurance .The govt agencies expect you to not have a "life" to afford health insurance. Cancer is a rough thing to fight my mom had it , an uncle has / had it the emotional toll is great. I have a uterine tumor that I will not allow surgery for . I have seen the fustrations that people who go through this fight , it causes all sorts of disablities , and hard ships for those involved ..... We use to do a lot of hospice runs and you could see the familys torn, and anguished , children , elders and the young and healthy. Remember to take time and care of your self and your wife , I hope that you might be able to get , "charity" ( I hate that word but that is what the hospitals call it) help from the hospital and the ca treatment cntr as well as perscription help , there are many new programs out there that help people in difficult situations they charge litte or no money at all for your meds . I would be willing to look into finding some of those numbers for you.

www.txcares.org
www.needymeds.com
www.themedicineprogram.com
these are a few that I found but could research more if needed .
Just know that you are not alone and that our prayers are on their way to Tx for you and your wife . Mike you and your wife are also in our prayers too .

incysor, I'm so sorry that you and your wife have had to face such tough challenges. I'm glad that her surgery and treatment are behind her. and I hope these post treatment side effects won't last too much longer. You're both in my thoughts and I wish you all the best.

I'm glad you're back! You are a major force on this board. We need you!

good things happen to good people. You are a super guy, and extremely helpful and caring. I know all of these drawbacks will end and things will get better for you and your wife. So during these tough times now, I can only wish you the best and hope the "bad" passes quickly and puts you back on the path "good" again.

Hey B-
Sorry to hear about your tough time here recently. Sometimes life challenges us all but only makes us stronger people in the end. You guys will get through this.

I too recently downsized with my tanks. I went from five tanks the beginning of this year to now just two and I might be getting rid of one of those. I'm actually thinking about just going with one 6g cube. For me, less is more at this point in my life.

I'd also like to offer you any seachem additives & product that you need from this point forward for maintaining your 30 g tank. I know its not much but I have some really good product that I'd like to give you if you need/want it. You've been a tremendous part of this site's success and you are a very valued member.

yep, I think everyone else said it all, your presence here was missed and we wish the best for you two.
and as far as reefing goes - I bet that 30 cube is going to be quite the tank with your consolidation.
