realistically, you should take the ones that have never posted, or have very little posts and that have not shown activity for like 6 months will lose their account and have to resign up.

When I used to be part of this integra club, I found that if I didn't post after a while, it would delete my username and I would have to resign up again. Of course this happened to me, because I sold my car, and then never really logged in for about a year. When I tried, it told me to re-sign up again.

13 year old has a valid point, but 1 month is not a long time. Heck, what if I took some vacation for a month? I'd come back and lose all my posts :( I'd say the system should be cleaned 6 months to a year and clean out all the idle accounts.

I feel that many registered members of this site read through posts, research, ponder and then read some more. A lack of posts on their end doesn't bother me at all. The point of this site is the absorbsion of useful information pertaining to nanotanks in an effort to help everyone succeed in this tough hobby and that is all.

Booting members just for not posting benefits no one.

Not to be biased on anyone, but the way I see it, though there are some members who do not post anything, its probably they've read the answers they were looking for and thought that it would be a waste of time to repeat questions which have been posted already.....in time, these members will have a question or have something to share and will post their thoughts.

But then again, maybe some of these members have had mishaps with their tanks and have given up on the hobby...as I know someone who is half out of the hobby already after having his 2 tanks crash for no reason at all.....all of his fish died at the same time, including his cleaner crew. Which kinda sucks since he influenced me to get into the hobby. He was my "reef buddy"....now that really sucks!!!

not on your case or beating on you.....just a inconsiderate comment. this site is here for informational uses, you use it or dont. cant knock ppl cause they dont post. i would rather have somebody with no post than someone with wastefull posts. this has nothing to do with reefing at all.......lets get back to the real reason this site is here....

From someone who administers several bulletin boards, deleting members has a negative effect on the database. If someone had zero posts, it's not as bad, but if someone has posted a couple times, things get ugly. Just let sleeping dogs lie.

The only time an inactive user should be booted is if their email bounces twice. It is the responsibility of all users to provide a valid email address as a prerequisite to post. Just bouncing once isn't enough, as servers do go down.

Maybe move the bounced address members into their own usergroup... that way you can isolate them and bulk mail to the problems only... then if it's clear the address is dead, wax the acccount.

I say as long as there is no problem with having alot of idle members then let them be, I have seen many times where someone starts a post like "I have been lurking here for a long time trying to learn and now need to ask.......". I see no problem with someone registering and not posting, isn't them gathering information from the site to help keep our hobby going with people with an adequate knowledge base our main goal? Not everyone feels comfortable answering questions and if they can get all of their questions answered by reading and doing searches then I see no problem with their being registered here. Just my opinion, Skip
