ouch, talk to the seller and get your money back. If they don't refund open a complaint with PayPal. They are slow sure but they will eventually get you your money back.

Little urchin,

The sun coral comes in a colony, they don't sell them one head at a time... I'll try to post a pic of a colony during the day, they look like a moon crater asleep.

As they wake in the night, they are translucent and bright orange to yellow in appearance.

You have been sent an aiptasia pest anemone, that is why they guy has them breeding like crazy, they multiply as fast as bunny rabbits.

Get your money back, report him to Ebay authorities....

I'm going to be brutally honest here..this guy never claimed to be selling sun polyps. He might be misrepresenting the corals from his pictures in the auction but he never does say the word 'sun polyps'. I'd still report him to ebay and see what they can do. That guy sucks.

Here's the description"

BEAUTIFUL MARINE POLYPS @ £2.99 EACH!

LOOK BEAUTIFUL WHEN THEY ATTACH TO ROCK (LIVING OR ARTIFICAL ROCK)

ALSO A GREAT WAY TO INTRODUCE SOME LIFE TO A NEW MARINE SETUP

Not to be blunt or hard on you but even if you opened a complaint with "safe harbor" you'd probably loose. I've been on ebay and got screwed 3 out of 500+ transactions and probably won 5-6 complaints. It doesn't say "Sun polyp" nor does it describe what kind of polyp it is, everyone just looks at a picture! :cryinga:
I'm sorry... You can always leave a bad feedback to warn othe future buyers. I'd give it a shot! What do you have to loose, right? Best of luck.

Definetly aipista, those things have a very strong sting to them. Get a peppermint shrimp, they will eat the aipista and then get rid of the peppermint shrimp. A lot of books and websites will tell you peppermint shrimps are reef safe, but, try telling that to my sea cucumber that the peppermint decided to do surgery on.

thanks guys.....you have confirmed what i was thinking...i have removed one which hadn't attached into the rock...the other found a hole and was locked in so i've given him a taste of joes juice

i'm now composing a letter to the vendor :rmad:

i feel like such an idiot...i did loads of reaserch on how sun corals need to be fed and the conditions they prefer....but didn't realise they only came as large colonies....the guy obviously didn't take his own photos.....i'll let you know how i get on.....

thanks again

just to update you a bit....i pulled out one and flushed him...the other i treated with joes juice....

after a couple of hours i noticed that his base had come loose in the hole he was in, and managed to prise him out too....so both are flushed :clapping:

i sent an e-mail to the guy to say that his advert was totally misleading, and that he ought to warn any other buyers of the potential risk to their tank and tankmates should they add them to their reef....i also sent him lots of info. on aiptasia, and warned him to expect lots of complaints (he sold 60 of these to my knowledge)....

got the feeling he's a bit of a shark tho....using a different pic....plus when he was getting lots of questions about what they were i emailed him to say they looked like sun coral...and he replied saying he wasn't sure what they were, so didn't want to say they were sun coral....sounds VERY dodgy now....didn't at the time.....

you live and learn

actually there is a couple who lives a few hours outside of dallas(where I live) who has figured out how to frag these corals.

Here is the only picture I could find from past threads.
