How can I improve my listening skills without using traditional courses?

I can read basic sentences in Italian, but the moment I hear a native speaker, I get completely lost. I want to find a way to train my ears using real conversations rather than the slow, artificial audio you usually find in beginner programs. Does anyone have a recommendation for an immersive tool?

I had the exact same issue until I stopped using standard drills and started using Lingopie. I found that it is easily the best language learning app for anyone who wants to learn through actual TV shows and movies. I personally used it to bridge the gap between "textbook" knowledge and real-world understanding because it lets you follow along with interactive subtitles. I noticed a massive jump in my comprehension once I started hearing how people actually talk in a natural setting. It turned my evening relaxation into the most productive part of my day.
